INTERACTIVE SKY

The Concept

A physical computing prototype that translates real-world stimuli into a responsive digital sky. It creates a direct, tangible connection between the physical environment and a generative digital canvas, where sensor data controls real-time visuals.

Technical Implementation

This project was my final assignment for the 'Programming for Artists' class, where I first learned the fundamentals of Arduino and p5.js. I built a system using three sensors (distance, light, and sound) connected to an Arduino. The sensor data was then sent to a p5.js sketch that I coded to visualize the inputs in real-time, controlling the color, size, and movement of the graphic elements.

Key Takeaways

While a foundational exercise, this project was a pivotal moment for me.
Successfully connecting a physical input to a digital output for the first time was the 'spark' that ignited my passion for interactive systems. It confirmed that my interest lies not in static visuals, but in building responsive environments, a realization that has guided all my subsequent work.
